JESSICA PARKER RAINES
Candidate for First Parish Court Judge
Division B
Jessica Parker Raines is a lifelong Jefferson Parish resident, a 23-year prosecutor in the Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office, and a candidate for Judge of First Parish Court, Division B.
A fourth-generation Jefferson Parish native, Jessica grew up on the Eastbank and graduated from East Jefferson High School. She was inspired to a life of public service by her mother, who retired as a Captain at the Kenner Police Department after 30 years on the force while raising five children as a single mom.
Jessica's path to the law began early — working her way up from paralegal classes in college, to a clerkship at Connick & Connick during law school, to more than two decades as an Assistant District Attorney. Over her career she has handled a wide range of matters, including criminal prosecution, civil litigation, court-appointed curatorships, Hurricane Ida claims, and wills and estates. She was named Crimefighters' Assistant District Attorney Crimefighter of the Year in 2022.
Beyond the courtroom, Jessica is deeply committed to her community. She served as President of the St. Martin's Booster Club and is an active member of more than two dozen civic, professional, and service organizations — including the Kenner and Metairie Rotary Clubs, Dawn Busters Kiwanis, the Krewe of Cleopatra, the Metairie Woman's Club, and multiple Republican women's clubs across the region. She is also a longtime Impaired Driving Instructor for the Kenner Police Academy, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, Gretna Police Department, and the Louisiana State Bar Association, and a volunteer with the LSP/LCMC Sudden Impact Mock Trial Program.

Jessica lives in Jefferson Parish with her husband Brandon — a firefighter and her high school sweetheart, whom she met working at Joy's Cinema City 8 in Kenner — and their three children: Peyton, a rising senior at LSU; Dylan, an Air Force Reserve firefighter; and Brennan, a rising senior at St. Martin's Episcopal School. The family rounds out with Benji, their rescue dog.
Grounded in faith, family, and four generations of Jefferson Parish roots, Jessica is running because she believes that our courtrooms must operate with order, efficiency and absolute impartiality. Over her career, she has fought for victims and learned what it takes to make sound decisions under pressure. She is committed to keeping dockets moving and preventing unnecessary delays, all while ensuring that every person is treated with dignity and respect. Now, she wants to bring that discipline and experience to the bench so that our community as a judge who respects the law and the people it serves because EXPERIENCE MATTERS.
